2008 Electoral Districts Act Boundaries
The BC Electoral Boundaries Commission concluded its deliberations on February 14, 2008 when it presented its final boundary proposals to the Speaker of the BC Legislature.
On April 10, 2008, Members of the Legislative Assembly gave approval to Bill 19, the Electoral Districts Act, which created 85 electoral districts. Royal assent was given on May 1, 2008.
The new electoral districts officially take effect on April 14, 2009, the day the writs are scheduled to be issued for the May 12, 2009 General Election.
