Elections BC is a non-partisan Office of the Legislature and offers several types of employment opportunities.

Elections BC Headquarters Opportunities
Permanent Employment Opportunities: The Chief Electoral Officer retains a core staff team of approximately 44 employees. The Public Service Act applies to these appointments and all appointments are excluded from the bargaining unit (Schedule A or management positions). Temporary Employment Opportunities: To deliver electoral events, Elections BC supplements core staff with temporary employees. The Public Service Act does not apply to temporary employees, nor do temporary work terms apply towards periods of public service. Temporary work terms provide excellent opportunities for supporting the electoral process while working in a unique environment. Please note: Recruitment for election-period positions will not begin until several months prior to an event and opportunities will be posted here on our website. Please check back regularly for updates.
The next scheduled provincial general election is on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Positions in support of this event and unscheduled events such as by-elections may be available across the province and individuals with different levels of experience and skill will be needed to fill the following opportunities as required:
District and Deputy District Electoral Officers:
District Electoral Officers (DEO) are responsible for conducting elections for their assigned electoral district. Deputies assist the District Electoral Officers.
Electoral District Employment: District Electoral Officers hire staff to assist them with the administration of elections. This includes staff in the district electoral office, as well as election and voter registration officials at voting places.
